If you have had the misfortune of needing the services of the hospital emergency department lately you will have noticed a few changes.  Paper is pretty much a thing of the past in that everything about you now runs through a Palm or laptop and flows into the hospital database.  Everyone works from that database as they add information about you and refer to your medical record for information.  The Federal government is encouraging this effort as the healthcare profession continues to work to be more efficient and effective.

Maplewood has joined this electronic Medical Record revolution by moving to a new software platform that allows us to maintain a completely electronic medical record.  Our new system has been adopted by over 4000 other health care facilities across the US and Canada and is "state of the art" in terms of it's technology and functionality.  Paper will more and more become a thing of the past as we are able to communicate with each other and other health care institutions on platforms that talk to each other.  Our staff has put together a Herculean effort that has lead to the transition and we are proud of each and every person who has made a contribution to this milestone accomplishment.
