I was just watching the evening news a little earlier and at the end of the broadcast they listed all the people that have passed away in 2009. The list of notable names was pretty remarkable. People like Walter Cronkite, Michael Jackson, Oral Roberts, Farah Faucett, Ted Kennedy and Jack Kemp were just a few. It reminded me of how precious the time is that each of us has been given. It's important not to waste it because it goes away before you know it. It also reminded me of all the history that went along with these people listed on T.V. and all the contributions they made during their lives. When we go from the famous people to the everyday people like you and me, my thoughts turn to those who live at Maplewood. I think there are some really good stories to be told and heard. All we have to do is ask and most of the time one of our Patients will share some amazing history and stories with you. Behind every door at Maplewood lies a great story and sometimes it is the last place it is ever told.
Happy New Year!
